No. Realtime News is completely free for all users, with no daily limit. Pro covers the authored study material — the sentence-study chapters, full-chapter listening, and the full quiz.
Subscriptions and refunds are handled by the store: on iPhone/iPad via Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, and on Android via the Google Play Store → Subscriptions.
To request a refund from Apple directly, go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple ID used for the purchase. The yearly plan auto-renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; the lifetime plan is a one-time purchase and does not renew. You can also email us and we'll help.
The developer runs no server and collects no personal data — there is no sign-up, no ads SDK, and no analytics or tracking SDK. Your bookmarks and progress stay on your device and sync only through your own iCloud, which the developer cannot access.
Some features do contact third parties directly: news sources, radio streams, and — only when you tap the translate button — Google Translate. The full list is in the Privacy Policy.
The Terms of Use and Privacy Policy are readable inside the app on the Pro upgrade screen. Subscriptions are also governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA).
Check that your device isn't muted or in silent mode, and that Bluetooth isn't routing audio elsewhere. If a chapter's audio stalls, close and reopen the app — playback resumes from the bundled files, which need no network. If the problem persists, email us with your device model and iOS/Android version.
